Congratulations to all involved and thank you for your gold coin donations.

HOLY WEEK REMEMBRANCE
As we journeyed through Holy Week, our school community took time to reflect on the most sacred time in the Christian calendar. Holy Week is a time of deep meaning, as we remember the final days of Jesus’ life, His sacrifice, and the hope of new life through His resurrection.
On Thursday, our wonderful students brought the events of Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, and Good Friday,y to life. These moments of reflection helped our students to grow in their understanding of Jesus' love, humility, and service to others.
On Holy Thursday, we remembered the Last Supper and Jesus’ act of washing His disciples' feet—a powerful reminder of how we are called to serve one another. Good Friday offered a quiet space for prayer and reflection, acknowledging the sacrifice Jesus made out of love for all people.
On Easter Sunday, we looked forward with hope and joy to Easter Sunday, celebrating the resurrection and the promise of new beginnings.
Holy Week reminds us of the importance of faith, compassion, and hope in our everyday lives. We are grateful for the opportunity to walk this sacred journey together as a school, united in faith and community.

PROJECT COMPASSION
This Lent, our school community came together with great generosity and compassion to support Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion. Through various Project Compassion Boxes, students, staff, and families showed their commitment to helping build a more just and fair world.
We are proud to share that together we raised $256 for Project Compassion! These funds will go directly toward life-changing programs that support vulnerable communities around the world—helping tPoU provide access to clean water, education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods.
We also raised $113 from our SRC 'Walk for Water' fun day. The spirit of giving and awareness of global issues was truly inspiring.
We thank all families for their support, donations, and encouragement throughout the Lenten season. Your generosity has made a real difference and reminds us that when we come together in love and service, we can help bring hope to those who need it most.

Term 1 Lego Club
It’s been a fantastic term at Lego Club! Our budding builders have been busy developing a range of skills through a mix of guided and creative activities.
We’ve focused on following instructions to build Lego sets, helping us improve our focus, patience, and attention to detail. We’ve also had lots of opportunities for creative free play, where imaginations have truly taken flight. From building Harry Potter worlds and magical castles to hotels, houses, shopping malls, and even lost cities guarded by dragons and knights, the creativity on display has been amazing!
This term, we also began exploring the world of coding using our Spheros. These fun, interactive robots introduced us to basic coding concepts like directions, sequences, and problem-solving in a hands-on and exciting way.
We’re looking forward to continuing to grow our coding skills and seeing where our imaginations take us in Term 2!
A special thanks to our master builders Mrs Duncan and Amy.

WONDERFULLY WIRED MINDS
Wonderfully Wired Minds
At St Joseph’s, we celebrate the unique ways people think and learn. Each week in Joey’s Morning Meeting, we explore a Wonderfully Wired famous person—someone who has used their unique strengths to achieve amazing things. In this section, we’ll share what we’ve discovered so you can continue the conversation at home. Stay tuned for inspiring stories of resilience, creativity, and determination!
Week 10’s Wonderfully WIred Person:
Dan Aykroyd (Actor and Comedian)
Dan Aykroyd, famous for Ghostbusters and Saturday Night Live, has Tourette’s syndrome and autism. As a child, he was often teased for being different, but he used his creativity and humour to connect with others. His unique way of thinking helped him create some of the most memorable characters in film and television.
Dan’s story shows that challenges can be turned into strengths when you embrace who you are and follow your dreams.
Here’s how you can explain these types of neurodiversity to your child.
Autism:
Autism means that someone might think, feel, or learn in a different way. They might really like doing certain things, or find loud noises and bright lights too much. Some kids with autism might not talk a lot, while others talk a lot about things they love. They're just being themselves, like everyone else.
Tourette’s:
Tourette’s is when someone makes movements or sounds they can’t always control, called tics. For example, they might blink a lot, make noises, or say words suddenly. They’re not doing it on purpose—it’s just something their body does.
