Principals Message
Dear Families
We finally got the great news yesterday that we will ALL be returning to school, next Monday 13 September. The students are so excited (we talked about it on Zoom), the staff breathed a sigh of relief, finally, they will get to see their students together again. And for the parents... I can only guess that there may have been a small fist pump of excitement when the good news broke! The chance to return to some form of normality leading into the holiday is the best news ever.
At this stage, I want to take the opportunity to say a few thank you's.
- To our wonderful students who generally did their best to keep learning in very different and sometimes difficult circumstances. We are so very proud of their achievements, resilience, persistence and support of each other.
- To you our parents, for your amazing efforts to keep your child/ren learning, positive and happy. We understand that keeping that going, as well as the normal ups and downs of family life, the added concerns about work and the lockdown restrictions- you have been nothing short of superheroes.
- To our staff, for their wonderful efforts to provide creative and engaging learning plans and packs, to consistently give feedback and mark work, to keep a daily check on student wellbeing and follow up, to organise and run Zooms, to share their skills and support their colleagues, and attend staff Zooms, all the while looking after, in some cases, their own children's learning and home life. Above and beyond your calling!
- To our Director of Catholic Schools Dr Sally Towns, our WHS Officer, our Media and Communications Consultant, and the staff at Catholic Schools Office for your constant support, guidance and vigilant communication and care throughout the lockdown.
WE GOT THROUGH THIS lockdown by supporting each other, caring and communicating.
Now we move forward to being together again, to some new freedoms, and to Level 3 restrictions here at school to be followed carefully to ensure the continued safety of all. I thank you in anticipation for your adherence to these new restrictions and guidelines.
