PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Next week you will receive information in relation to booking your Parent-Teacher Interviews times online through the Compass App.
The interviews will be held in week 8 on Monday 15 March and Tuesday 16 March
between 3.40 pm and 6 pm.
These meetings provide the opportunity to meet individually with teachers to discuss any goals, concerns or queries you may have regarding your child’s education and I urge you all, if possible, to avail yourself of this opportunity.
We look forward to sharing this time with you to further support your child's progress. Thank you for your cooperation.

CURRENT COVID GUIDELINES
- Students and staff with even mild symptoms of COVID 19 are not to attend school. Parents of symptomatic children should provide evidence of a negative result prior to returning to school. In circumstances where children have other medical reasons for recurrent symptoms, a letter fro the GP is sufficient to negate the requirement for a negative test.
- We will continue our regular COVID safe practices of student hand sanitising on entry to the school, after mealtimes and during the day.
Week 5 Highlights that we are truly grateful for:
- Mrs Piccini and our BFF groups
- The Incitare Retreat and how Anna, Sarah and Banjo participated so beautifully and honestly.
- Our students who are beginning the preparation for the Sacrament of Penance.
- The Student Representative Council for their ongoing organisation of his term's Fundraiser.
- The Parent Forum for their efforts, time and hard to bring us the St Joseph's Community Fair.
- Our parent community for getting involved, volunteering to help and supporting the St Joseph's Community Fair.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Regards
3rd SUNDAY OF LENT - GOSPEL REFLECTION
John 2:13-25
For Jesus, the Temple was an important, holy place where his community gathered to worship God. One day Jesus was angered by the moneychangers that had occupied his place of worship – his sacred place. So, Jesus’ humanity is obvious in this reading, as anger was his reaction to the situation. Just like Jesus, we can be angered by the words. deeds and actions of others, but as Christians, we are challenged to respond with love and forgiveness. At Incitare this week, our students were reminded that they are the living disciples of Jesus and should shine the light of love upon others.
INCITARE - LISMORE DIOCESE STUDENT DISCIPLESHIPAt INCITARE the Proclaim Year 6 Student Discipleship Retreat this week, Anna O'Neill, Sarah Jamroz and Banjo Newman, experienced a faith retreat using a variety of prayer methods, games, group processes and student-led discussions. They were also given a bookmark and a proclaim badge. They have been encouraged to "go forth with love, and set the world on fire, within our school community and beyond. Our students were outstanding ambassadors and will share their experiences with their classmates and the school community at assembly next week. PROJECT COMPASSION 2021We encourage you to put your compassion into action this Lent through your prayer, fasting and almsgiving by supporting Project Compassion Each family has been given a Project Compassion box for their donations or you can donate online via the Caritas Australia website at lent.caritas.org.au Saint Oscar Romero is our inspiration for Project Compassion 2021, so in his words let’s “Aspire not to have more, but to be more.” COULD ALL MISSION BOXES PLEASE BE RETURNED BY MONDAY 29th MARCH 2021. |
Project Compassion - Third Week of Lent We are now in the third week of Lent with the Project Compassion story of Oliva, a 22-year-old woman from Tanzania. She did not have the opportunity to go to school and was embarrassed that she was unable to read, write or count. As an adult, her business was losing money because she couldn’t add up her money and give the right change to customers. Then Oliva enrolled in Caritas Australia’s literacy and numeracy classes. She also set up a home classroom to teach her neighbours, for free, because they were too shy to attend larger classes. Oliva has now graduated, attendance at her classes are growing, her kiosk is thriving and she is helping her children with their homework. She aims to become a pastor and run for leadership in the next local election - to help her community to ‘Be More.’
Watch a short film about Oliva’s story here. “Aspire not to have more, but to be more.” Please support Project Compassion: lent.caritas.org.au |
