Week 6- Term 3 - 2021
Dear Families
Attendance at school continues to be limited to vulnerable students and those students where all parents/caregivers must attend their place of work and cannot work from home leaving their children unsupervised.
- That you stay in contact with your child’s teacher and seek assistance if required.
- That you keep your children involved in their daily work as much as you are able (Go easy on yourself too).
- Remind your children about Zoom meetings - these are a great way of keeping in contact and asking the questions they might need to be answered.
- If your child is experiencing device issues, contact their Stage teachers so they can help with the issue.
We sent the following grid to Stage 2 & 3 students earlier this week. It is a way of keeping St Joseph's values in place during Blended Learning. The students know that it is important to be following the school values at all times. Please feel free to discuss it with them.

SUNDAY GOSPEL REFLECTION 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time
Gospel Reading: John 6:60-69
Simon Peter confesses his faith that Jesus alone has the words of eternal life.
Often our faith is tested, and we may wonder what do we need to sustain faith and our discipleship. We can pray that God will help us be like Simon Peter and the disciples who under difficult circumstances chose to follow Jesus. As we grow in our faith, we will make our own choices about living our faith. But we can’t do this without God’s help and the help of our community. When we plant seeds of love, joy, faith, peace and forgiveness within our own family circle and amongst our friends we are being authentic living disciples of Jesus.
With Spring approaching perhaps planting some sunflowers. vegetable or herb seeds with your children during the Covid lockdown may be a good plan. It would be an opportunity for all to experience the joy of watching their growth and an awareness of the wonderful gifts of nature.
Besides the obvious reasons like fresh air and distance from the computer, tablet or phone screen, there are reasons why spending time outside is be not only fun for your child. A strong connection to nature almost always results in the improvement of a child's mental, physical, and emotional health.
.MAKING JESUS REAL - (MJR)
At St Joseph’s Woodburn we encourage our students to “Make Jesus Real’” by the way they act in our school community and while at home and out in the community
MJR at St Joseph’s Woodburn encourages our students to be WEST people - that is WELCOMING, ENCOURAGING, SAY SORRY when needed and be THANKFUL.
