It was a beautiful liturgy and we are so proud and pleased for Pip Swanson, Sophie Flanagan, Sunni Reese, Rose Quirk, Meluca Jett and Ayla Stahl. We look forward to them making their First Holy Communion on Saturday 17 September 2022
A big thank you to their parents for supporting the girls in their preparation and to Mrs Boyd for working to prepare the students and organising the beautiful Liturgy.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND
THANKSGIVING PARISH SCHOOL MASS
On Saturday 17 September 2022 our six Stage 2 students will be receiving their First Holy Communion. We are so looking forward to supporting them and their families on that very special day.
We would also like to invite our students and families to the Mass to acknowledge the Parish and parishioners for giving us the use of their Church and moving to the Anglican Church for their Masses.
WE ARE TRULY GRATEFUL TO FR MAX GOW, FR PETER JONES, AND THE ST JOHN'S CHURCH PARISHIONERS FOR ALLOWING US TO MOVE INTO THEIR CHURCH WHEN WE SO DESPERATELY NEEDED A PLACE TO GROW A SCHOOL FOLLOWING THE FLOODS.
We hope that you can join us to show our community thanks.

SUNDAY GOSPEL REFLECTION:
Year C - The 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Gospel Reading
Luke 15:1-32
Jesus responds to those who criticize him for keeping company with the unworthy.
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus tells three parables, or stories, about something or someone being lost and then found. Our students are familiar with the story of the Prodigal Son who returned home to a forgiving father.
When we make poor choices or do something we know is wrong, we turn away from God and feel lost. God never stops loving us. He looks for us when we sin or miss the mark. He rejoices when we return to him and tell him we are sorry, and he always forgives us and loves us unconditionally.

SPOTLIGHT ON STAGE 2
In Stage 2 the students are enjoying reading the novel ‘The Midnight Gang’. The class co-constructed the success criteria to create a mind map that had keywords, categories, connected ideas, illustrations, and visuals organised to demonstrate their understanding of the text.
Stage 2 is also exploring measurement in Maths. Students are problem-solving rich mathematical tasks by selecting the appropriate unit of measurement and sharing their ideas with their peers.
