We organise school events and take part in community events that provide opportunities to showcase students’ talents, raise awareness for local issues or concerns, and extend social networks. These events can help to create a more cohesive community. 

At St Joseph’s Primary School, we encourage your family to share these experiences with your child.

St Joseph’s Woodburn Community Fair & Fireworks- Annual Event run by the School Parent Forum and open to the surrounding communities.

Woodburn RiverFest - Every Year the school is invited to the Woodburn Riverfest and perform musical items or poetry. The children are also encouraged to enter the art competition for the same event. 

ANZAC Day Marches and Ceremonies at Woodburn and Evans Head - The student march in the Anzac Parades - Dawn Service at Evans Head and 9 am service at Woodburn. The School Captains and Vice Captains give speeches and lay wreaths at both memorials.

Christmas Carols at Woodburn and Evans Head - The Students attend, support and perform at the Christmas Carols in Evans Head and Woodburn.

Students belong to three house teams, named after the native animals of the Bunjalung Country, that promote connections to our Catholic story and a deeper sense of belonging.  Houses are used for sporting events, assemblies and gatherings.

GURAMAN- KANGAROO- Yellow House

BURBI (pronounced Burrabi) - KOALA- Blue House

Our School Patron Saint is Saint Joseph, the husband of Mary and the legal father of Jesus. Saint Joseph is the Patron Saint of Workers, Carpenters and the Universal Church. Saint Joseph’s Feast Day is celebrated on 19 March.
